If you are traveling with a fresh manicure that you know will chip before you can get a new one, carry a nail polish wipe in your makeup bag. Cutex makes them in little towelette form and I keep them in my purse for those moments when my manicure is peeling and I find myself in the middle of Manhattan (or Bermuda).
Another traveling tip for manicures: light nail polishes don't show chips as quickly as dark ones.
