Apparently the Twittersphere is all abuzz over Olympian Gabby Douglas and her hair with people claiming her hair was too casual, needed gel, blah, blah, blah, blah. I have to admit, when I was watching her amazing floor routine during the team gymnastics competition, I was a bit distracted what seemed to be a super casual hairstyle. It seemed Douglas had pulled her hair into a looped ponytail as if that day were just any day and not the Olympics. In contrast, other gymnasts sported sleek 'dos with barrettes and even sparkly hairspray and makeup to stand out.
On closer inspection of this picture here, you can see Douglas' hair is actually made up of lots of tiny braids pulled back into a lovely loop. It's not casual at all, it just appears so from a distance.
