Last week I treated my neighbor, Lola, age 11, to dinner because her parents were out for the evening and they asked me to check on her. Plus, I think it's important to have friends of all ages.
Lola chattered away over Pad Thai about what it's like to grow up here in Park Slope, Brooklyn (she loves it), what it's like at the school she got into (kids around here "get into" schools, these days it seems) and why she loves her nail polish which she bought from Claire's in the city. It changes colors, she told me, looking down at her turquoise nails. You put your fingers in hot water and the nail polish changes from one color to another. We agreed it pretty much was the coolest thing.
Fascinated, I researched nail polishes that change colors and found a few. There's the Claire's version, Mood for Thought, which Lola has. There's also The Mood Polish, Blaze Color Change Polish and Del Sol Color Changing Nail Polish.
